Hello there, Barely God. I am the greatest God of the pantheon. I am unnamed, and dwell in a time in space that no other God can reach. I judge the deeds of all lesser beings. By my hand the universe turns, and by my word all things tremble.
You will each take the roll of a Barely god. Some of you may refer to them as demi-gods or half gods. But for this universe, your kind are known as Barely Gods. You are not true Gods. However, you aspire to become one. Your greatest power is your immortality, which lets you walk in the realm of the greater Gods. This also keeps you from being killed by anything less than the terrible means it takes to kill a God.
Your bodies are no stronger than that of Ordinary men, and can be destroyed in the mortal realm. However, your bodies would simply reform in the Hall of Immortals, located in the realm of all the greater gods, dead center.
Your other power, depends on what God you serve. Depending on your power, they cannot be used against other Barely Gods or Greater Gods, only mortals. (i.e. Making someone desire something, filling someone with endless bloodlust) But something such as attacks, or physical traits you have, can be used. (I.e. Immense strength from the God of War, the ability to unleash vines from the God of Nature)
There are specifics though. For your power, you have to serve a greater God, who you aspire to take the place of. Your powers have to be SPECIFIC. No "God of Shadows". You can have the power to travel through shadows, or to command shadows to do something, but you cannot have full control over shadows in one power. Perhaps if you find a way to take someone else's power, and they complete your power roster, you can. But with only one power, you need to be specific in what you can do.
There are many, many greater Gods, but their power is dictated by their following. If they're an incredibly minor God (i.e. The God of desire, the god of sins) they are much weaker than the other gods. However, that means you, in turn, are also weaker if you are under them. You do not share in their power, you need your own power. However, they also do not share the power you, specifically, gain. If you lose all following entirely, you lose your Immortality and powers, and begin aging. You would be a mortal now, until you gain following again. Beware, however, Greater Gods are able to use their power on anyone under them, and you are expected to check in with them again when possible, or they may get suspicious.
If they discover you are attempting to kill them and take their place, they may attempt to capture you and kill you permanently. The greater Gods do, indeed, have a way to kill other Gods. They hate to use it, but if you intend to use it on them, they will use it on you to protect their lives.
If you have any other questions, Private message me. If you've read everything, put Barely in the other box. Important details known only to one character will be PM'd to the owner of that character, and are expected to be kept secret unless your character outright tells other players. If a player character acts upon something they should know nothing about, they will die. Unless your character can see into the future (God of Knowledge power) you are not allowed to act upon any OoC information. Nor should OoC information be shared freely, as betrayal may be someone's plan, and it's more interesting if you backstab someone without them knowing about it beforehand OoC.
So summary: Make a Barely God with one specific power under a Great God, and attempt to overthrow that God, kill them, and take their power/position, becoming a Greater God. Anything that isn't told to all players, should be PM'd to me, and I will PM it to whoever you intend to give this message to. This is important for betrayal, doing anything you don't want other players to know about, and gaining powers without other players knowing.
