A Brain War.
It is battle very similar in mechanics to most other roleplays on this site, except for one thing. Your actions are virtually limitless in possibility.
People would take turns in a rotation saying what they'd do, keeping in mind that the main goal is to be the only survivor by taking out the other players.
Moves can be as ridiculous and outlandish as summoning giant marshmallows and dropping them on opponents, or as simple as firing lasers.
Ripping off attacks from books or TV shows is not only fair game, it is encouraged. The restrictions on those moves are only as presented in their location of origin. For example, using a portal gun is just fine so long as the portals stay the same size. Otherwise, you'd have to find a different medium for portal production,
If someone has made a move that you don't like, (for example attacking with a big sword,) then you can use your turn to counter.
Now remember, you can put as many actions into a turn as you want but any of them have the potential to be countered at any time. That is to say, if you attempt a big chain of events all at once, a person could just counter one of your earlier actions and keep the entire thing from transpiring.
Also, and these are some very vital rules here,
1) NO INSTANT WINS. You are not allowed to attain permanent immortality or invincibility. You are also not allowed to change an opponent's form in order to prevent their bodies from functioning, unless it occurs through a ray or other counterable medium.
1a) Stopping time and attempting to claim victory through a temporal technicality is not allowed. It is, however, possible to stop projectiles this way as long as other players are still free to move.
2) No player mind control. Under circumstances where someone were to launch a mental attack in order to achieve this goal, it would only succeed if they already had sufficient mental stat boosts from prior turns AND the other player didn't do anything sufficient to counter. If two players have equal mental stats and one attempts a mental assault, neither player gains ground.
3) If asked for details in your move, you must provide them. Moves such as, "I kill you all" are invalid until clarified.
It is frowned upon to repeat moves in the same brain war, be they your own or those of another player. It is perfectly fine, however to use similar moves in different brain wars, because some people just like adhering to their own certain styles of game play.
Anyone caught spamming over and over in a single brain war will not have any dire consequences because I don't have that power, but they will be forever known to the internet as spineless wienies.
You are limited to one life at a time. It is possible and allowed to create alternate versions of yourself, but they must all be inactive if they are to be considered part of your lives. Also, do not spam alternate selves. Some exceptions can be made to this as well, through temporal mechanics and alternate dimensions... But they can easily backfire and complicate things. All in all, it is A BAD IDEA. Trust me, I've tried getting it to work.
These aren't all the rules, so i will keep updating... They're only here to make sure people don't try to cheat their way to victory. Just use common sense and courtesy, and you'll be fine.
If you don't know what to do for your turn, try:
Countering immediate threats,
Raising stats and gaining upgrades,
Making/summoning minions,
Using new equipment,
Attacking,
Charging an attack,
Or doing seemingly random moves that don't actually have an impact on anything.
Current turn rotation:
Zyphon,
Jinx,
Striker,
Equinox,
Avitem,
repeat.
